The past two months have certainly kept us on our toes! Between market activity, producer events, and another great milestones in Grow's history, our newsletter had to take a back seat for a little while.

💻 Our New Website is Live!

We’re excited to share that the Grow Fresh Produce website has been completely refreshed! With a modern new look, improved navigation, and enhanced functionality, it’s now even easier for producers, buyers, and stakeholders to find the information they’re looking for. We invite everyone to have a look and explore the new experience.

⛰️ Welcome to Grow Boland!

For many years, it has been our vision to establish Grow on the four largest fresh produce markets in South Africa. With the addition of our Cape Town operation, that vision has now become reality.

On 22 June, we officially celebrated the launch of Grow Boland alongside clients, producers, stakeholders, and the Cape Town team. It was a special morning celebrating not only a new chapter for Grow, but also the incredible legacy of Boland.

This year, Boland celebrates its centenary, with roots dating back to 1926. Congratulations on reaching this remarkable milestone, and welcome to the Grow family. We are excited about the future we will continue building together.

🚺 💪🌸 Celebrating the Women Who Keep Agriculture Moving

As we head into July and Women's Month in August, Grow will be launching a special campaign dedicated to the incredible women who help drive our business and industry forward.

Throughout July and August we will:

Celebrate the women within the Grow family, our industry and our stakeholders.
Share the stories of women working both behind the scenes and on the frontline of agriculture.
Launch a Women's Product Drive, collecting essential items to donate to an organisation supporting women and families in South Africa.

Keep an eye on our social media platforms as we celebrate the women who make a difference every day.

We are pleased to officially welcome Renier van Jaarsveld to the Grow Group as our new Chief Operating Officer. We are excited to have you on board and look forward to the leadership, transformation, and growth you will bring as we continue building the future of Grow. Welcome to the team!

Achievements & Milestones

🏆 43 Years of Dedication

A heartfelt congratulations to Alex Christodolides on celebrating 43 years with the Grow family. Following a correction to our long-service records, we surprised Alex on the fruit floor to celebrate this incredible achievement. Forty-three years of dedication, relationships and service is an extraordinary milestone, and we thank you for everything you've contributed to Grow.

🏆 Record Month for Noordvaal Tomatoes

Congratulations to the Noordvaal Tomatoes team for achieving a record month during May. A fantastic achievement and a reflection of your hard work and commitment.

🇿🇦 Representing South Africa

Congratulations to Nickie Strydom (Noordvaal Veg) on being selected to represent South Africa at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in shot put.

We are incredibly proud of this achievement and will be cheering you on from home. We look forward to sharing your results and celebrating your performance with the Grow family later this month.

Celebrating the Day of the Potato 🥔

Grow joined Potatoes SA in celebrating the Day of the Potato at the Tshwane Market. It was wonderful to see members of the public, buyers, and clients engaging with and celebrating one of South Africa's favourite staple foods. Sometimes it's the humble potato that reminds us just how important fresh produce is in feeding our nation. Thank you to Potatoes SA for another great initiative!
