A Busy Season in South African Agriculture

April brought another dynamic month for agriculture in South Africa. Across the country, producers continued navigating changing weather conditions, fluctuating volumes, and shifting market prices as the industry moved deeper into the seasonal transition. While some regions experienced pressure from rainfall and logistical challenges, the resilience of farmers, agents, and buyers once again stood out.

Even though we find ourselves already halfway through May, we still wanted to take a moment to reflect on the highlights and milestones from April, because there was plenty worth celebrating.

Company Updates & Announcements

🙏 Grow Boland Officially Underway

April marked our first full month operating as Grow Boland on the Cape Town Market. The excitement around this new chapter continues to build, and the team has embraced the Grow identity with great enthusiasm.

We look forward to officially launching Grow Boland in June 2026, an exciting milestone for the entire Grow group as we continue expanding our footprint across South Africa.

💍 Wedding Bells for Anja and Willem Kilian who tied the knot on 11 April 2026.

⛳ Grow at Golf Days

Grow attended the Petrus Steyn Golf Day and the JCS Farming Golf Day in April, spending valuable time connecting with producers, partners, and industry friends outside of the market environment.

🥔 SAKO AGM Meeting

The Grow team also attended the SAKO AGM Meeting, where important industry discussions and planning for the future of the Sandveld potato sector took place.
